Barrio Latino Hotel Playa del Carmen Beach Area

The staff is very nice, all of them. Yes, there is a club around the corner but if you go inside your room the fan sound will mute it enough to sleep. The rooms are nice and clean, no real complains as the location can hardly be beaten. The place is nicely decorated and really feels like a good value holiday place. Not to mention the nice cat they have so friendly, Enzo is the best!

Overall, we had a good stay at this hotel! The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach, food, and ferry to Cozumel. Having free parking was a huge plus considering we did a lot of exploring.The rooms were very clean and well-kept, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The hotel also had some lovely common areas, including an outdoor bed in the back and a quiet spot to sit and enjoy takeout, read a book, or just unwind after a long day. That said, there were a couple of things to be aware of. Because of the natural straw ceiling design, we did notice some bugs, including a few cockroaches, which was unfortunate. Also, you might want to bring earplugs—the bar next door plays loud music late into the night (no fault of the hotel). Despite those things, the overall experience was still positive, and the value, service, and location make it a solid choice for our 8 day stay. Would definitely book again.

This place was perfect for what I was looking for. The owner and staff are very friendly. Only thing I didn’t appreciate is that they charge 50MXN to just hold my bag for 2 hours before my bus. If I want it for half day or overnight. But for a few hours… that’s just greedy and they don’t have a luggage storage, they put it under the stairs next to door. If you want to charge for storage, at least have a storage. As for people complaining about noise from club. I don’t hear anything from bother me.

Sweet little place. Quaint rooms. Great location. Nice outdoor seating area. Comfy hammock on front porch of each room. Good prices! Would like to see hand towels and wash cloths in the room. Mattresses were hard...could benefit from softer mattress toppers for more comfort. Otherwise pretty perfect place for the great price. Nice large bathroom and shower. Refrigerator in room. Microwave outside on covered patio area. Very nice and thoughtful staff! We really enjoyed this hotel.

location is great. walking distance to almost everything in Playa Del Carmen tourism district. rooms are clean but the whole unit definitely needed some upgrade.

Great staff, helpful and friendly. The room was ok and generally clean but there was some hair left on the sink and the shower barely worked. Is quite noisy as is in the center of the action. Has parking and is safe.

It has a cat. 5 stars for the cat. Other notes: easy check in, except POS machine didn’t work with our visa so we had to pay cash, but they were very easy going about it and let us pay at check out. Only negative is the bed was VERY hard, don’t know if could sleep on that all week. Outside area is beautiful.

Great location and friendly staff (and cat!) It does get loud at night but that’s to be expected anywhere in this area. For us the location was worth the noise. Rooms were relatively clean and AC was very good. The hammock outside was very nice as well. There were definitely bugs in the rooms though since the straw ceiling leaves a gap between the wall and the roof. We were sleeping with mosquito spray on and still getting eaten alive. They also forgot to give us shampoo and soap the first night. Overall it’s still a good value for the price. Highlight was the cat: so sweet, super cute, and friendly!
